Terms of service
Last updated: 25 August 2026
1. Who You Are Contracting With
PunchID is a service name. The service is operated by PunchID, established in Portugal, which is the party to these terms and the controller of your personal data.
You can reach us at support@punch-id.com. Throughout these terms, "we" and "PunchID" mean that operator.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PunchID ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including Athletes and Organizations. PunchID reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
3. Account Types
PunchID offers two account types with distinct capabilities:
- Athlete: Can create a personal profile, manage fight records, register for events, and connect with organizations and teams.
- Organization: Can create and manage events (fights and seminars), register athletes, submit event results, and manage participant lists.
You must select an account type at registration. Account type determines the features available to you and cannot be changed after registration without contacting support.
4. User Responsibilities
By using PunchID, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and profile setup.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
- Not impersonate another person, athlete, or organization.
- Not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
- Not upload content that is defamatory, harmful, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Platform's systems.
Athletes must complete their profile (name, date of birth, gender, city, and country) before registering for events. Incomplete profiles will be blocked from registration.
5. Event Registration
Events on PunchID are created and managed by Organizations. Registration is subject to the following conditions:
- Athletes self-register or may be registered by an Organization on their behalf.
- Registration approval follows a multi-party workflow (Athlete → Team, if applicable → Organizer).
- Event organizers have sole discretion to accept or reject registrations.
- Both the Athlete and the registering Organization consume one free registration slot when an Organization registers an Athlete.
- PunchID is not a party to any agreement between Athletes and Organizations and is not responsible for event cancellations, disputes, or outcomes.
6. Subscriptions
PunchID has subscription tiers that set how many event registrations an account may make:
- Default: the tier every account starts on, with a limited number of registrations.
- Fighter / Promoter: higher registration allowances for Athletes.
- Organizer / Organizer-Promoter: higher allowances and full event management for Organizations.
No plan is charged for at present. PunchID has no payment processor connected and cannot take a payment, so every tier is currently free and no card details are collected or stored.
If charging is introduced, we will tell you in advance and no account will move to a paid plan without you agreeing to it explicitly. At that point, and because these would be distance contracts with consumers in the European Union, you would have fourteen days from subscribing to withdraw without giving a reason, and you would be able to cancel at any time with effect from the end of the period already paid for.
7. Content Ownership
You retain ownership of all content you submit to PunchID, including profile information, photos, and event data. By submitting content, you grant PunchID a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.
Fight records and event results are submitted by authorized event organizers and are subject to an approval workflow. PunchID does not independently verify the accuracy of fight outcomes. Disputes regarding fight records must be resolved between the involved parties.
8. Liability Disclaimer
PunchID is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PunchID disclaims all liability for:
- Physical injury or harm arising from participation in combat sports events listed on the Platform.
- Inaccurate event information, fight records, or results submitted by third parties.
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits resulting from use or inability to use the Platform.
- Actions or omissions of event organizers, athletes, or other users.
Your use of the Platform and participation in any event is entirely at your own risk. Combat sports carry inherent physical risks that are outside PunchID's control.
9. Termination
PunchID reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms of Service, provide false information, or engage in conduct that is harmful to other users or the Platform. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon termination, your access to the Platform will cease and your public profile will be removed. Fight records linked to verified events may be retained for the integrity of the historical record.
10. Age and Minors
You must be at least 13 years old to hold a PunchID account. This is the age of consent for information society services in Portugal under the GDPR, and it is enforced at registration from the date of birth you provide.
If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf and must consent to your entry into any event before you register for one. Combat sports carry physical risk, and an event organizer may require proof of that consent, together with medical clearance, independently of PunchID. We do not verify either, and nothing on this Platform is a substitute for the checks a promotion or a federation carries out.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Portugal and applicable European Union regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Disputes are subject to the courts of Portugal. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, this does not take away your right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, or the protection of the consumer law that applies there — a term saying otherwise would not bind you, so it is not written here.
Before going to court you may refer a consumer dispute to alternative resolution. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, and consumers in Portugal may also contact the arbitration centre for their area, listed by the Direção-Geral do Consumidor at consumidor.gov.pt.
